It was actually built as a gift from France to the United States of America. One of the key aspects that make it unique is a broken chain at the feet of statue that acts as a clear representation of the freedom that was achieved by United States during Independence. It stands 93 meters high and receives over 5 million tourists from all across the globe annually.
